DESCRIPTION:Join us for a demonstration with Clarence Cruz/Khaayay and learn more about micaceous pottery. \nClarence Cruz/Khaayay is a renowned potter and taught as an Assistant Professor in the Art Department at the University of New Mexico for over twenty-five years. In 2020\, he was the recipient of a Luce Indigenous Knowledge Fellowship. In 2012\, he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Allan Houser Legacy Award for his work continuing the living traditions of Pueblo pottery. Cruz is also a member of the Pueblo Pottery Collective for the exhibition Grounded in Clay: The Spirit of Pueblo Pottery.\nThe demo will be held downstairs in the Museum Classroom. Free with museum admission and for members.
