SUMMARY:Exhibition Opening\, Jared Weiss: "“We Don't Know That We Know Where We Are\, We Don't Know That We Know Where We’re Going”
DESCRIPTION:Ellsworth Gallery in collaboration with Curate Santa Fe presents\,\nJared Weiss\, “We Don’t Know That We Know Where We Are\, We Don’t Know That We Know Where We’re Going.” \nThis exhibition of new paintings by the Santa Fe-based artist explores ideas of unknown-knowns; knowledge that we are not consciously aware that we possess. Weiss states\, “I paint familiar people and places as staged\, performative scenes that resist clear narratives. I see my figures as actors on a stage\, performing.” Often\, these scenes resemble a theatrical production transpiring in the deserts of New Mexico. The narratives are open ended\, creating a dialogue between the work and the interpretation of the viewer. Weiss continues\, “I like to think that the figures are positioned between dance\, protest\, and ritual\, attempting to influence social change in their performance. Whether they are successful is something that can’t be answered.” \nGallery hours – Thursday\, Friday\, and Saturday from 12pm-6pm.\nOn View 4.17.26-5.29.26 \nJared Weiss\n“Well\, That does Sound Pretty Serious”\nOil on Canvas\n43″ x 63″ \nEmail
