The A.R. Mitchell Museum’s summer exhibit, Trail Song, pays homage to the wide-open West by bringing together six exciting artists for the first time.
Curated by local artist, Max Kauffman, the upcoming exhibition will showcase works from Colorado- and New Mexico-based artists Johnny DeFeo, Anthony Garcia Sr., Johanna Mueller, Alexander Richard Wilson, Mike Strescino, and Jaime Molina.
“I’m drawn to this collection because each artist has a distinctive way of conveying the energy of the trail, which can be unforgiving at times,” said Kauffman. “Their stories are embellished, colors exaggerated. They’re frontier creators, each relating to the natural landscape around us with their own unique style and interpretation.”
The show’s opening reception is on Friday, May 20 at 6 p.m. and it will be on display throughout the summer until closing night on August 30, 2022. Learn more about this exhibit at armitchellmuseum.com and neufolkart.com.
