Rob Weingart: Synonyms & Antonyms

Rob Weingart is an interdisciplinary artist based in Amarillo, TX. His work consists of studio debris and discarded “art-parts” in an attempt to create well-tuned compositions that evoke aerial views of vast Texas panhandle landscapes. The management of shapes, intentional patterns, crisp lines, varying textures, and color manifest an attempt to put chaos into order.
Stylistically, the work is oriented toward the Neo-Concrete and Finish-Fetish movements and straddles the line between painterly and sculptural concerns. Weingart is in our John F. Lott Gallery from March 7 – March 29, 2025.
