In celebration of the 12th SITE SANTA FE International, Pie Projects Contemporary Art is showcasing the work of 7 exceptional artists, including Florence Miller Pierce and Daisy Quezada Ureña who a selected for the biennial by its curator Cecilia Alemani. Also featured are Lua Brice, Jane Lackey, August Muth, Signe Stuart, and Judy Tuwaletstiwa.
Florence Miller Pierce’s work takes center stage with large Cloud resin reliefs exhibited for the first time since the artist’s passing in 2007.
Daisy Quezada Ureña brings us installations of slip porcelain and mixed media informed by her full-room installation for the 12th SITE SANTA FE International at the New Mexico History Museum, Palace of the Governors, in downtown Santa Fe.
The work of Jane Lackey, Signe Stuart, and Judy Tuwaletstiwa explore materiality through hand-sewn paper, paper constructions, mud, and mixed media, while Lua Brice and August Muth push the boundaries of expression of light with crystalline titanium paintings and holographic etchings laminated in archival glass.
