Jon Revett: Glacier Project: Revettrospective
On view: October 3–November 29, 2025
The Glacier Project is a site-specific installation composed of vinyl records screen-printed with tessellated patterns. Various installations of this project have been shown in multiple locations over the last fifteen years, often with new compositions and printed pattern. This exhibition features the records from five different installations that have been shown here in Lubbock all the way to New York City. Each record is signed and editioned, so they are art works that are intended to be looked at, not listened to, thus transcending their original commercial intent. The Glacier Project connects nostalgia, religion and pop culture, transforming discarded vinyl into artworks that benefit society by drawing attention environmental issues and using mass consumption to support non-profit organizations.
The public is encouraged to purchase and then remove the records during the installation, thus facilitate the “melting of the glacier”. All funds from the sales of this installation go to LHUCA. The records are $20 each. Please coordinate with the LHUCA staff about how to purchase and receive the records, which should come down in real time to reveal the final form of the Glacier Project with voids where the records were.
