Gifts From Earth and Sea, Amapola Gallery’s Featured Artist exhibition for April, presents Brenda Bowman’s jewelry and Kristin Parrott’s wall art and stone carvings.

Brenda Bowman is known for the everyday elegance of her jewelry.  For over 40 years her work has been a delightful fixture in Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque.  She combines Sleeping Beauty turquoise, Navajo “pearls” and baroque pearls with sterling and gemstone beads to create earrings, necklaces and bracelets that are unique, striking and affordable.

Kristin Parrott has been showing at Amapola since its inception in 1980.  Interpretive rather than realistic, her work includes landscapes in watercolor, acrylics and media, each a meditation and a visual still point.  Her latest passion, paper collage, showcases trees and peaceful pathways with a backdrop of colorful mountains and skies.  Stone carvings include hands, bears, snakes and more in a variety of soapstone and alabaster.
