The solo exhibition by Austin-based artist Fernando Palomo – Struggle and Release – invites you to immerse yourself in a transformative dialogue that navigates the tumultuous sea of human sentiment and experience. With his remarkable ability to convey depth and emotion, Palomo’s intricate detailing marries realism with fantastical elements to create a body of work that is as diverse as it is evocative.
Palomo’s introspective works capture an ethereal quality that ushers viewers through a sense of journey across different realms and states of being. His art encapsulates the dichotomy of dream and reality, challenging to explore the interplay between the subconscious mind and tangible existence. A courageous exploration of the human condition.
This first solo exhibition in Austin will showcase Fernando Palomo’s latest acrylic canvas artworks, illuminating the complex interplay of internal conflicts and the quest for liberation that defines our existence. Alongside these, his paper artworks will be on display, offering a delicate yet powerful contrast with their blend of aquarelle, ink, and at times, acrylic evoking a silent strength found in vulnerability and the nuanced paths to personal realization and triumph. Some pieces within this collection carry a dark component, a defiance of the dark really, reflecting the shadowed corners of struggle that ultimately lead to the cathartic release.
Struggle and Release is an invitation to witness the unfolding of an artist’s soul, evolution and growth mapped out on canvas and paper, asking us to find a piece of ourselves within the vivid strokes and hues. Struggle and Release is an artistic milestone, a testament to the transformative power of art that is Palomo’s journey, where art echoes life, inner struggles, and desires. A mirror reflecting the multifaceted journey we all share.
Each brushstroke, shade, and detail beckon viewers to shed their armor, inviting an embrace of the complexity and sophistication woven by the artist’s skilled hand.
