On view from May 12–June 25, 2022 at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center is Culture of Hair–a collection of photographs from bodies of work by Tara Bogart, Inyang Essien, Rohina Hoffman, Nancy Grace Horton, and DM Witman.
Hair is a fundamental part of the human body that is fraught with expectations about beauty, identity, age, gender, and race. Culture of Hair brings together a diverse group of five women artists whose photographic work explores the multifaceted meanings of hair to gain more understanding on a subject that is at once universal and distinctive.
Opening Reception will be on Saturday, May 21st from 5 – 8pm. Please check website for up to date information on our COVID-19 policy.
And on Wednesday, May 25th, a virtual Zoom discussion with the artists will take place. Separate registration for this special programming is required through CPAC’s website.
The show can otherwise be viewed during normal gallery hours. Tuesday-Friday 11 am-5 pm and Saturday 12-4 pm.
