The Mad Hatter Gallery’s February exhibition, Collusions: The Collaborative Work of Craig Cully and Kelly Leslie, is a unique creative fusion of two distinct artistic practices and artistic personalities. Cully is a painter and Leslie is a graphic designer.
Both Cully and Leslie grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, both graduated with BFA degrees from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, both earned their MFAs from the University of Arizona, and both are teachers. Cully is a Professor of Painting and Drawing at New Mexico State University and Leslie is an Associate Professor of Illustration, Design, and Animation at the University of Arizona.
The exhibition will be on view February 5-28, with an artists’ reception on Friday, February 7, from 5 to 8 pm.
In addition to Collusions, The Mad Hatter Gallery will host “Where Art and Ekphrastic Poetry Meet,” a reception for local poets who have created poems based on the art in Collusions. The reception is open to the public and will be held on Sunday, February 23, 1-3 pm.
The Mad Hatter Gallery is open 11 am-5 pm, Wednesday-Friday, and 10 am-3 pm Saturday. For more information, please email the gallery at themadhattergallery@gmail.com.
