Bunny Bowen: Minding the Webs

Wild Hearts Gallery presents Bunny Bowen: Minding the Webs, on display May 27–June 29, 2025.

Minding the Web is a multi-media exhibit woven around the signature piece, wax resist on silk titled “We Have Nets to Mend”. Bowen understands that we are all part of the web of creation and continues that theme throughout the show in acrylic, wood and ceramics. Known internationally for her work in wax resist on silk, she has recently reconnected with her early training in painting and now works also in acrylic and ceramics. An early love of wood carving has evolved into the fashioning of hangers from local juniper for the silk hangings and stoneware in the exhibit.

Bowen believes that making art is a way of mending or minding the web.  She writes: In creating “We Have Nets to Mend,” I had a vision of no longer being able to venture out to sea to fish, but to still help out by sitting on the shore mending nets for younger ones who would do the work in the distant future.
