Aron John Dubois: Weeding by Moonlight

The Valley is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Aron John Dubois. This exhibition marks Dubois’ third solo exhibition with the gallery, and the first in Santa Fe, where he lives and works.

In this body of work, Dubois continues to explore themes of ripening, harvest, and decay inherent in the changing of the seasons. Celestial and mythic figures herald this change, rendered in rich tones and scumbled, atmospheric textures that suggest both emergence and erosion. Drawing from allegory, devotional imagery, and the natural cycles of his surroundings, Dubois’ paintings move between the earthly and the ethereal, grounding the sacred in the soil of daily life. The works invite a meditation on transformation, asking what it means to listen, to labor, and to yield to the passage of time.

Weeding by Moonlight is on view at The Valley’s Santa Fe location, located at 616 ½ B Canyon Road, right next door to Smoke the Moon. An opening reception will be held on Friday November 14, from 5-8 pm.
