DESCRIPTION:The Wild Bloom is an immersive\, three-night event series that transforms Union Hall’s gallery into a dynamic stage for interdisciplinary\, boundary-pushing work. \nOn any given night you might discover a performance blending movement with poetry\, an interactive improv group\, or an unexpected\, comedic guided meditation. Attention will move methodically from the toes to the crown (which may require some deep cleaning). Along the way\, subtle obstructions—those that interfere with one’s capacity to function smoothly within established consumerist systems—may be observed and released. \nElle Hong & Josh Ware—10SHINS // LIMBSCAPE: A contact improvisation for two bodies that affirms/dissolves a subject’s boundaries\, both through riding/interrupting momentum and sensing self through contact with another. \nKenzie Sitterud—Post-it Note from Patriot: Kenzie will perform a patriotic flag-retiring ceremony\, drawing on their research of the Flag Code\, while engaging the audience with a syncopated Pledge of Allegiance and a National Anthem soundtrack. The performance will be a hyper-patriotic ceremony as commentary on who and what is defined by patriotism held in accordance with the flag code. \nThe Wild Bloom is generously supported by Meow Wolf Denver. DESCRIPTION:Submerged in Sound is a curated listening experience exploring the Afrofuturist lineage in music\, tracing a sonic path from early innovators to modern bass culture. \nLed by Darrien Williamson of Asé Aperture and creator of Dem Deya Sound featuring Detroit legend Sinistarr\, and hosted by Drexciya: Into the Deep curator Sierra Jeter\, this experience highlights rare and historically significant records and examines how bass\, sound system culture\, Black electronic music and Black musical futurism have shaped global music movements. We’ll also deep dive into records as historical artifacts\, each one a drop in the ocean of Afrofuturism. \nIn Black electronic music cultures and sound\, from house\, techno\, dub\, ghettotech\, footwork\, and other forms\, the dance floor functions as a sacred space. Historically\, Black communities have used dance and music as tools to process and heal trauma\, from slavery to systemic oppression. The dance floor becomes a site of embodied liberation\, allowing for psychological and spiritual restoration. \nThe central theme is sonic legacy—artists creating music to shape a better world for future generations. \nThe program combines: \n– HiFi vinyl listening experience on a handbuilt sound system\n– African diasporic storytelling within the Drexciya: Into the Deep exhibition at Union Hall\n– Expertise\, historical context\, lived experience and commentary from Sinistarr and Darrien Williamson\n– DJ sets by Sinisstarr and Scarien\n– Hosted by Sierra Jeter \nSeating is limited; RSVP in advance! \nTo learn more about Drexciya: Into the Deep visit UnionHallDenver.org/rough-gems-drexciya.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Crafty Action Society
DESCRIPTION:We’re bringing together art and activism\, creating a space for artists and crafters to come together to create for a cause. \nCrafty Action Society is a way to bring people together to learn from local organizations working for social change and to do so through “craftivism“—using creative expression to cultivate awareness and spread their message. March 18 is the 1st session in this monthly series and will be a PechaKucha (Japanese for chit-chat) style presentation from local activists about how your creativity can help their cause. After the PechaKucha we’ll bring out the craft supplies and create an action plan for the coming months. We’ll explore techniques from quilting and embroidery to stenciling\, collage\, and papier-mâché ensuring activities are accessible to beginners and more advanced makers alike. \nThrough this program\, we are raising money for the organization that we are hosting and our own teen internship program. But no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Tickets are available on a sliding scale from $10-$40 which will also cover supplies\, snacks\, and the assistance of our teaching staff. \nThe Center for Visual Art is MSU Denver’s off-campus art center located at 10th and Santa Fe Drive. We present year-round exhibitions that encapsulate the power of art and its ability to spark dialogue and create pathways to change. Whether giving voice to local artists or those with international reach\, CVA’s exhibitions address complex social issues in a visual language unlike any other form of communication. \nwww.msudenver.edu/cva

SUMMARY:Opening Reception: YALLA & (UN)SEEN\, Photography Exhibitions
DESCRIPTION:From March 13-May 17\, 2026\, RedLine Contemporary Art Center presents two distinct contemporary photography exhibitions: UNSEEN and YALLA: You’ll Never Walk Alone. \nYALLA: You’ll Never Walk Alone is a solo exhibition featuring photographs and ephemera from Brooklyn-based\, Lebanese\, Palestinian-American photographer Marwan Shousher. The exhibition title\, “YALLA” is loosely translated as “C’mon. Let’s Go!” in Arabic\, while the subtitle refers to the song\, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry & The Pacemakers (1963)\, which has become an iconic anthem of solidarity through working class soccer/football clubs in Liverpool\, Glasgow\, and Dortmund. \nUNSEEN challenges viewers to see Palestinians as complete individuals with a deep connection to their land\, ancestors\, and the traditions they carry. Featuring photographs of Colorado Palestinian families taken by local artists\, UNSEEN invites viewers on a journey of what it means to be Palestinian today. \nEach exhibition reflects a unique artistic perspective and approach. While different in thesis and tone\, both projects align with RedLine’s mission to support artist-led work that fosters education\, reflection\, and thoughtful dialogue. \nThe opening reception is on Friday\, March 13th\, from 7-9pm.
