DESCRIPTION:Join Black Cube for a mini film festival celebrating three short films commissioned from three international artists: Julie Béna\, Anna Uddenberg\, and Alejandro Almanza Pereda. This program marks the first time that each of these films will be screened in-person in the Denver area. We’ll be transported from BCHQ to Colorado’s Great Sand Dunes\, controlled art gallery environments in New York and Berlin\, and the historic brickmaking town of Magdalena\, Jalisco. Expect blonde wigs\, adult diapers\, and hands working clay. DESCRIPTION:“Westermann: Memorial to the Idea of Man If He Was an Idea” is a documentary film that chronicles the story of a marine veteran who navigated the profound traumas of war by making art\, becoming a hero to generations of artists\, including his friends Ed Ruscha and Frank Gehry\, among others interviewed in this immersive film. The film features actor Ed Harris as the voice of H.C. Westermann. This film is presented in conjunction with Harwood Museum of Art’s exhibition Pursuit of Happiness: GI Bill in Taos on view through May 31\, 2026.
