SUMMARY:Exhibition Opening: EVOLUTION/REVOLUTION: New Works by Shelley Horton-Trippe

Her exhibitions span major international platforms\, including the Venice Biennale\, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival\, and the SITE Santa Fe tenth Biennial. \nPresented by Phil Space Santa Fe\, ruffling the golden goose since 1999.

SUMMARY:Exhibition Opening: It's all pipes
DESCRIPTION:It’s the end. I didn’t want to know. The pipes are calling. I’m not looking. \nBesides calling\, they’re getting dressed\, they’re making choices\, they’re making decisions and it’s based on something. They’re being watched and they don’t know. They’re looking at something and does this fit? The manual is here and they’re behaving.\nThere’s a story inside a story. The illusion of control. The slice of pie I selected\, the crumbs on the floor. \nBelieve me as pipes. They only exist if you see them. \nTaylor Engel (b. NY\, USA) is an interdisciplinary artist working in performance\, sculpture and installation. Her work has been featured in Southwest Contemporary’s Vol. 12 Obsession and has shown throughout various spaces in Albuquerque\, NM such as the Immanuel Presbyterian Fellowship Hall\, 1415\, Spectra Gallery\, Desert Mystery Center and a number of open spaces and stages throughout the city. She co-runs a monthly experimental presentation series called Presentation Series and participated in Cura and Michele Rizzo’s workshop Coalescing Towards(Rome\, 2025). They received an MFA in Sculpture from The University of New Mexico and a BFA in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute. \nRachel Bordeleau (b. WI\, USA) is an interdisciplinary artist and educator making work about place. Her current practice is rooted in Albuquerque\, New Mexico\, where she works with plants\, archives\, found objects\, image\, and projection to make sculptures and installations. Her practice is research-based and grows from lived experience\, offering stories about life and death cycles\, indeterminacy\, and change. She co-runs the monthly experimental presentation series\, Presentation Series\, and is a member of the SeedBroadcast artist collective. She holds an MFA in Art & Ecology from the University of New Mexico and a BS in Textiles and Fashion Design from the University of Wisconsin – Madison

SUMMARY:Performance\, Entrapping Our Abundance: A Circus Production Exploring the Southwest's Climate Realities
DESCRIPTION:ENTRAPPING OUR ABUNDANCE is Wise Fool New Mexico’s original production debuting mid-April in Santa Fe. This powerful\, circus-driven performance explores the climate realities of the Southwest through aerial arts\, acrobatics\, and striking visual storytelling. Featuring a cast of professional circus artists and the return of our towering 20ft free-standing aerial truss\, the show brings gravity-defying performance into a story about the landscapes we call home. \nIn our 23+ years of operation\, we have experienced the impact of Social Circus as a powerful agent for social change\, to educate\, and to raise awareness. This circus production will act as a vehicle to communicate the expansiveness of the environmental disruption in the Southwest from massive wildfires\, water shortages\, and the greed for natural resources that continuously infringe on native lands. Be inspired by our stunning cast of aerial performers\, acrobats\, and jugglers as they travel across the beautiful Land of Enchantment and preserve its precious resources.

SUMMARY:Exhibition Opening: Inheriting the Void
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for Inheriting the Void\, a performance-installation and video essay. \nCome witness a speculative interaction between a bear and a ventriloquist that asks: On whose behalf do we speak? What is the relationship between memory and knowledge? And who or what speaks through our actions? \nLoosely based on my experience caring for my mother during her rapid onset of dementia\, as well as larger themes of the climate crisis and mental health\, Inheriting the Void invites audiences to scan a QR code and listen on their phones (with headphones) to an audiovisual story while standing at the base of Tumamoc Hill. \nThe video essay is approximately 15 minutes. Arrive any time between 7:30–8:15pm. Please bring a charged smartphone and headphones to access the video essay. \nCreated by artist and educator Geneva Foster Gluck. \nAs a place-based art/research project\, Inheriting the Void explores the connections between mental health and contemporaneous events of the climate crisis\, the rapid rise of energy and water-hungry AI data centers in the American West\, and global violence. \nThe project draws from the writing of Amitav Ghosh’s The Great Derangement: Climate Change and the Unthinkable to consider the intersection of supremacist and colonial perceptions of the environment and aggressive extraction in the borderlands; Karen Hao’s Empire of AI\, in which Hao writes that the delusion of AI as a tool for humanity “simply equates to educated people becoming ventriloquists for chatbots”.These texts\, alongside the use of bear dolls in dementia treatment—as memory tools and comforting childhood symbols—form a kind of constellation of the inverted logics that seem to drive these times of dementia\, derangement\, and delusion. \nThis work was made possible by a MOCA Tucson Night Bloom Award and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. SUMMARY:Curator Tour: Artistry Across Asia
DESCRIPTION:Join Colin Pearson\, Curator of Asian Arts\, for an intimate in-gallery tour exploring the exhibitions Flowers of Punjab and Splendors of East Asian Cloisonné. \nThe tour begins with Flowers of Punjab\, an exploration of the region’s rich material traditions with a focus on phulkari—a vibrant form of embroidery historically crafted by women across generations. Drawn from the Khanuja Family Collection\, these works highlight the artistry\, symbolism\, and communal practices that shaped Punjab’s textile heritage. \nThe conversation then moves to Splendors of East Asian Cloisonné\, showcasing the brilliance and technical mastery of enamel craftsmanship across China and Japan. SUMMARY:Performance: Tristan und Isolde
DESCRIPTION:After years of anticipation\, a truly unmissable event arrives in cinemas worldwide on March 21 as the electrifying Lise Davidsen tackles one of the ultimate roles for dramatic soprano: the Irish princess Isolde in Wagner’s transcendent meditation on love and death. Heroic tenor Michael Spyres stars opposite Davidsen as the love-drunk Tristan. \nThe momentous occasion also marks the advent of a new\, Met-debut staging by Yuval Sharon—hailed by the New York Times as “the most visionary opera director of his generation” and the first American to direct an opera at the famed Wagner festival in Bayreuth—as well as Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s first time leading Tristan und Isolde at the Met. Mezzosoprano Ekaterina Gubanova reprises her portrayal of Brangäne\, alongside bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny\, who sings Kurwenal after celebrated Met appearances in Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and Ring cycle. Bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green makes an important role debut as King Marke. \nLocal support for the Met: Live in HD series is provided by The Edward Hastings and Gino Barcone Trust.
