SUMMARY:COLLIN BRADFORD - EVERY ROCK IS A CLOUD
DESCRIPTION:Material is pleased to present Every Rock is a Cloud\, a solo exhibition by Utah-based artist Collin Bradford\, on view October 24 through November 20\, 2026. \nWorking across video\, photography\, sculpture\, drawing\, and other forms\, Collin Bradford has developed a practice centered on how we understand and relate to the land we inhabit. Every Rock is a Cloud considers land and our human experience within it\, through the expansive scale of geologic time. The exhibition grew in part from Bradford’s move from the Great Lakes region to Utah\, where the exposed geology of the surrounding landscape prompted him to think differently about permanence\, transformation\, and the ways human experience intersects with much longer processes of geological change. \nThroughout the exhibition\, Bradford shifts between human and geologic scales to challenge our perception of landscape as fixed or permanent. Rocks and clouds emerge as temporary arrangements of matter operating at radically different speeds. At the same time\, transparent colored forms alter familiar views of the land and draw attention to ongoing geologic activity. DESCRIPTION:Join us in celebration of Kouri + Corrao’s first solo show with Vilnius-based Japanese painter Keisuke Azuma. Azuma’s compositions reveal ambiguous figures that appear to emerge from and dissolve into raw exposed grounds. This interplay of construction and withdrawal reflects a sensitivity to impermanence. Parallel Shadows explores presence and absence of memories. The show melds European artistic influences and Japanese aesthetics to form unrecognized yet familiar shapes and figures\, creating a still atmosphere of uncertainty.

SUMMARY:Decomposing Imprint
DESCRIPTION:Millville Studios presents “Decomposing Imprint\,” a solo exhibition of new and existing work by Los Angeles-based artist Alexandra Lopez Iglesias\, curated by Sara Hubbs. The exhibition marks a return to Tucson for Lopez Iglesias\, who earned her Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Arizona. \nThe exhibition opens Saturday\, November 7th with a reception from 7-10 pm and remains on view through December 19\, 2026. A closing reception will be held Saturday\, December 19th from 7-10 pm.  \nDecomposing Imprint explores the marks we inherit\, accumulate and carry through our lives. Working with paper and clay\, Lopez Iglesias considers how these impressions shape us\, what we continue to carry and what we might choose to release. Through piercing\, cutting\, scraping\, stitching\, burning and concealing\, Lopez Iglesias approaches her materials as bodies capable of holding memory. She describes these actions not as acts of wounding but of excavation. Each gesture leaves a trace\, building a physical record of accumulation\, resistance and transformation. \nThe exhibition will unfold across both floors of the gallery\, bringing individual works into conversation through shared materials and processes. Together\, they explore the ways an imprint can be preserved\, transformed or undone. \n“To decompose an imprint is not to erase it\,” Lopez Iglesias writes. “It is to stay with it long enough to recognize its parts.”

DESCRIPTION:Smithsonian\nNew work by Hills Snyder\ncactusBARN March 5 – May 7\, 2027\nReception: Friday\, March 5\, 5 to 8 PM\n613 Mission St.\, San Antonio\, TX 78210 \nTwo flags installed in close proximity\, indicative of their twin legacies of insurrection; that of the January 6\, 2021\, Christian Nationalist attack on the US Capitol; and that of the American Slave Holders Rebellion of the 1860s\, more popularly known as the Civil War. \nOne\, the flag of the United States\, with a forty-three-word text embroidered in the red stripes. \nThe other\, the flag of the Confederate States\, repeatedly boiled in calcium hydrosulfite and exposed to sunlight over a four-year period. \nBoth flags are framed as if presented in a museum of American history. \nOther works will occupy the space\, adding detail and fire.
