SUMMARY:Concert: Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
DESCRIPTION:The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain returns to the Lensic by popular demand. Formed in 1985 as the antidote to mindless pop\, egocentric rock\, and the indulgent bluster of the music business\, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain donned black tuxedos and began giving ‘concerts’ in tiny rooms above old pubs. \nFour decades later\, they’re still thrilling audiences with their off-beat humor and four-stringed virtuosity. There are no drums\, pianos\, backing tracks\, guitars\, or banjos\, no pitch shifters or electronic trickery\, just an astonishing revelation of the rich palette of orchestration afforded by ukuleles and a menagerie of voices in a collision of post-punk performance and old classics.

SUMMARY:Concert\, Submerged in Sound: An Asé Aperture Listening Experience
DESCRIPTION:Submerged in Sound is a curated listening experience exploring the Afrofuturist lineage in music\, tracing a sonic path from early innovators to modern bass culture. \nLed by Darrien Williamson of Asé Aperture and creator of Dem Deya Sound featuring Detroit legend Sinistarr\, and hosted by Drexciya: Into the Deep curator Sierra Jeter\, this experience highlights rare and historically significant records and examines how bass\, sound system culture\, Black electronic music and Black musical futurism have shaped global music movements. We’ll also deep dive into records as historical artifacts\, each one a drop in the ocean of Afrofuturism. \nIn Black electronic music cultures and sound\, from house\, techno\, dub\, ghettotech\, footwork\, and other forms\, the dance floor functions as a sacred space. Historically\, Black communities have used dance and music as tools to process and heal trauma\, from slavery to systemic oppression. The dance floor becomes a site of embodied liberation\, allowing for psychological and spiritual restoration. \nThe central theme is sonic legacy—artists creating music to shape a better world for future generations. \nThe program combines: \n– HiFi vinyl listening experience on a handbuilt sound system\n– African diasporic storytelling within the Drexciya: Into the Deep exhibition at Union Hall\n– Expertise\, historical context\, lived experience and commentary from Sinistarr and Darrien Williamson\n– DJ sets by Sinisstarr and Scarien\n– Hosted by Sierra Jeter \nSeating is limited; RSVP in advance! \nTo learn more about Drexciya: Into the Deep visit UnionHallDenver.org/rough-gems-drexciya.

SUMMARY:Concert: Christian McBride & Edgar Meyer
DESCRIPTION:The meeting of great minds usually happens behind closed doors\, but for two of the world’s foremost bassists—Christian McBride and Edgar Meyer—the collaboration proved so fruitful that a duo album\, But Who’s Gonna Play the Melody?\, exploring their collective backgrounds\, was born. \nNow the duo is hitting the road\, and we can’t wait to present them at the Lensic. The legendary bassists will meld McBride’s jazz and R&B fusion with Meyer’s bluegrass and classical sensibilities for what is sure to be an unforgettable performance of new compositions and timeless American standards.

SUMMARY:Concert: Lúnasa
DESCRIPTION:It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without a visit from Lúnasa! These Irish music superstars return to the Lensic for the fourth time to bring joyous Celtic tunes to our stage. Not only are they standout musicians\, they have a sense of humor that will leave you warmer than an Irish whiskey. \nLúnasa was formed in 1997 by members of some of the greatest Irish groups of the previous decade\, an early review from Folk Roots magazine describing the band as an “Irish music dream team.” From the start\, the band’s complex arrangements and unique sound reshaped the boundaries of traditional music and energized audiences.

SUMMARY:Concert: The Ten Tenors
DESCRIPTION:Australian music ensemble The Ten Tenors returns to the Lensic for an evening of ten-part harmonies and show-stopping choreography. The Australian group\, celebrating its 30th year in 2025\, has toured the world over with their irreverent and clever interpretations of operas and soulful ballads to classic rock and pop songs. \nSince their very first performance in Brisbane in 1995\, The Ten Tenors have established themselves as one of the world’s top vocal groups. What was meant to be a one-off corporate gig put on by a group of blokes from Brisbane’s Conservatorium of Music has turned into a musical touring juggernaut.
