WNMU Fiesta Latina

¡Fiesta Latina! is a cultural event organized by Western New Mexico University to recognize, celebrate and assist in the preservation of New Mexico’s connection with its Mexican heritage, customs and traditions.
The four-day outdoor festival on the beautiful WNMU campus in Silver City features Latin music and dance performances, food and drink, a tequila tasting, traditional children’s activities, crafting workshops and demonstrations, and a juried artisan mercado, featuring the traditional folk-art of more than thirty artisans from throughout Mexico.
This wonderful family event is now in its fifth year of hosting the artisan mercado featuring thirty+ traditional master artisans who travel from all across Mexico to sell their crafts.
The ¡Fiesta Latina! lineup includes both free and paid events. Free events include a music stage featuring entertainment throughout the weekend, including Mariachi Los Camperos, Nohe & Sus Santos, indigenous dance and more.
