The Ultimate Boon

In conjunction with Denver’s Month of Photography (MoP) celebration in March 2023, The Ultimate Boon is an introduction to five artists who have utilized their art to navigate various life-altering experiences to reach their boon. Boon (noun) is a thing that is helpful or beneficial. Co-curated by Nadiya Jackson and Florence Blackwell, the featured artists have surmounted personal obstacles by discovering and honing their chosen mediums and practices. By uniting creatives who work across visual and sonic disciplines, the audience will immerse themselves in these robust narratives that catapult them to an empathic state while even embarking on their own understanding of their journeys to bring them to their Ultimate Boon. Featured artists include Coltyn Cody, Lizeth Guadalupe, Isaac Jordan Lee, Eduardo Vazquez, and Xavier Hadley.

Join us for the opening reception of The Ultimate Boon at Union Hall on Thursday, February 23rd from 6-8 pm. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The Ultimate Boon is on view through March 18th, 2023. Union Hall’s regular Gallery hours ate Wednesday through Saturday, 12-6 pm.

This exhibition is part of our Rough Gems series. Rough Gems is Union Hall’s annual open call and collaborative curatorial program, showcasing the work of three Denver-based curators/curatorial teams in a rotating pop-up exhibition format.
