The Solacii Rises: A Celebration

The Solacii rises again at form & concept. From the ashes, a new iteration of this public art sculpture will stand tall and light up Santa Fe’s skyline once again. Join artists Tigre Mashaal-Lively and Anastazia Louise as they present a new beacon of resilience for the Santa Fe BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and arts community.
Tigre Mashaal-Lively is a Black mixed-race, genderqueer artist raised in Philadelphia and based in New Mexico. Working across a wide array of mediums and disciplines, Tigre creates art ranging from large-scale installations, sculptures and murals to intimate illustrations, paintings, music and movement-based performance. They hold a BA in Visual and Performing Arts from Bennington College (2008) and are a Burning Man Honorarium Grant recipient for the interactive sculpture The Solacii. Tigre’s work has previously appeared at form & concept in Family Room and Hand Tools of Resilience, a nationally-juried exhibition organized by artist Nikesha Breeze.
Anastazia Louise is a multi-media artist and creativity consultant with over 25 years of professional experience spanning performance, costume design, fabric art Installation, painting, jewelry design and event production. Louise Aranaga is the founder, artistic director and choreographer of Bad Unkl Sista, an arthouse that offers a performance art ensemble that combines choreography, original music, costuming and physical theater elements to produce site-specific durational performances that provoke and inspire. Bad Unkl Sista also is the vehicle for classes, intensives, installation work, creativity, and presence counseling, costume commissions, jewelry, and paintings.
