Silver City Red Dot Studio Tour

September 1September 3

Free

Meet Silver City Artists in their Studios during this year’s Studio Tour!

The 2023 Silver City Art Association Studio Tour takes place Labor Day Weekend, September 1-3.

The studio arts reception will be on Friday, September, 5-7 pm at Light Art Space Gallery, conveniently located at 209 W Broadway St, Silver City, NM. You will be able to meet the artists, view work representing each artist’s studio, and pick up a brochure to guide you on your weekend tour.

Studios will be open on Saturday 10-5 pm and Sunday 11-4 pm.

The exchange between artists and visitors makes the annual Studio Tour rich and unique. Visiting artists in their creative space gives insight into the different media, processes, and methods each artist has in applying their techniques. Included are works in progress, completed art, and informative demonstrations. It is also a chance to discover some areas around Grant County that artists discovered before you. This year’s tour includes artists new to Grant County, as well as those for whom New Mexico has been their long-term base and muse. Experience a variety of art: functional and narrative clay work, paintings in diverse media including beeswax, photography, montage, sculpture, digital, and fiber works. Follow the map down country roads, along scenic byways, and historic downtown Silver City. You will find studios hosting art you love!

The Studio Artist’s exhibition will be in Light Art Space’s Flash Gallery beginning on August 24. Extended hours will be in place labor day weekend matching the studio tour. Brochures will be available throughout.
