Rendezvous Southwest 2022

The historic Percha Bank in Kingston, NM welcomes members of Rendezvous Southwest to their inaugural art exhibit. Sixteen photographers from across the Western United States have assembled to exhibit a collection of work that is rarely displayed together. Although the work is rooted in photography it encourages creativity that pushes the boundaries of contemporary photography. The work presented includes processes such as cyanotypes, platinum-paladium, lumens, pigment ink, silver gelatin, synthetic collages, hand-applied precious metals, and pigments. The photographs were created with film cameras, large format field cameras, handmade box cameras, I-phones, and digital cameras.

The first Photographer’s Rendezvous were held in the American West under the tutelage of Al Weber, photographer, and educator. Ten years ago the torch was passed to three western photographers and Rendezvous Southwest was formed to continue the tradition. Photographers from across the nation gather to exchange progressive and educational ideas-traditional, digital, experimental, and alternative processes in order to further the photographic arts in this unique setting in Kingston, New Mexico.
