Scottsdale Public Art’s newest exhibition, Lex Gjurasic’s Flower Worlds, running April 10 through July 15, 2025, at Scottsdale Civic Center Library, features the artwork of Tucson-based artist Lex Gjurasic, who expresses her philosophy of radical happiness with this new series of paintings and sculptures celebrating flowers as symbols for explosive joy.
Gjurasic’s artwork will be also featured through augmented reality (AR) for the first time. Raisanen is grateful to give Gjurasic the opportunity to expand her palette with AR and create artwork in a new medium, which is accessible to visitors via the Hoverlay app.
“It kind of blows my mind, but I was able to work with Hoverlay to create augmented reality elements,” Gjurasic said. “Due to physical restrictions of the gallery space and my intention to go for a maximalist vibe for this exhibition, I was limited in a few ways. Through the use of AR, we were able to surpass these limitations and create some really cool ways to interact with the art. Everyone is going to freak out!”
