Artist Talk, Albuquerque Museum,
Thurs, April 20, 5-6 pm

Beginning in 2017, the Department of Art launched the Frederick Hammersley Visiting Artist Program which invites prominent contemporary painters worldwide to come live and work in Albuquerque. Funding for this program is provided by the Frederick Hammersley Visiting Artist Program Fund at the Albuquerque Community Foundation. The mission of the visiting artist program is to honor the legacy of Frederick Hammersley and expand awareness of his life and work through the establishment of links to some of the most visible painters working today. Through this program, visiting artists are provided with accommodations at The Hammersley House, a studio near the UNM Department of Art graduate students. The visiting artists are invited to create work, conduct studio visits with the Fine Arts graduate candidates, hold workshops, deliver a public lecture, and host an Open Studio event.
