Works in Clay: A Pop-Up by SFCC Ceramic Students

This exhibition brings together hand-built ceramic works created by students in the Summer 2025 Functional Hand-building class and the Fall 2025 Hand-building I class. The works on view demonstrate foundational techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction, while also highlighting how simple prompts can open pathways to form, function, and personal expression. Through exploring everyday vessels, sculpture, and variations on utility and glazing, students learned to shape ideas into ceramic form. The result is a thoughtful collection that reflects both skill-building and the ongoing work of discovering one’s voice through art-making.
