Leslie Miller: Four Takes, An Exploration of Abstract Art
opening reception: November 9, 1-4 pm
ongoing exhibition: November 8, 2024-January 3, 2025
Artist Leslie Miller is thrilled to announce the inclusion of her abstract paintings in a four-person exhibition. The exhibition Four Takes, An Exploration of Abstract Art, will be held at the K. Newby Gallery and Sculpture Garden in Tubac, AZ. The artist will be attending the opening reception on Friday, November 9, and will be available to discuss her art with attendees from 1 to 4 pm. It opens during the Tubac Fall Artwalk. She will be sharing insights about her art at that time. The exhibition runs through January 3, 2025.
Leslie is one of only four artists invited to be featured in this informative exhibit. The intention of the Four Takes exhibition at K. Newby Art Gallery is to showcase an evocative exploration of abstract art that brings together four distinct voices that challenge, inspire, and redefine the boundaries of perception. Each artist offers a unique lens, or a different “take” on abstraction resulting in a dynamic and diverse visual dialogue that speaks to the power of imagination and form.
Leslie lives and works from her studio in Tubac. She is a contemporary artist painting primarily in oil with cold wax medium. The artist describes her work by saying, “I am fascinated by the many layers, unique marks, and ability to create transparency and opacity that hints toward the human condition. Working intuitively, each piece ebbs and flows through various layers that could not be achieved in one pass.”
In 2016 she was honored to receive the Master Meed award by popular vote from Tubac Center of the Arts. Leslie also teaches workshops in Tubac with several starting in January 2025. She will give her first workshop in Santa Fe in March 2025. Visit her website for more information.
