Join us on August 30, from 5 to 7 pm at our opening reception for painter David Johns (Diné). For the last fifty years, Johns has blended his formal training in fine art with Navajo philosophy. This latest exhibition of paintings shows Johns on the verge of a creative singularity that synthesizes balance, beauty, and harmony.
“Everything I am and do I hope comes from a place of harmony,” says Johns. “If my mind, body, and spirit are in balance, then I can produce an image which reflects my truth.”
Johns has lived according to the Diné Way, which teaches that one should strive toward balance, beauty, and harmony in all aspects of life. This final Friday, learn about this sacred philosophy through the visual articulations of a contemporary master.
