Bitfactory Gallery at 851 Santa Fe Drive is proud to present MRKT, a Month of Photography exhibition featuring images by Denver artist Jeff Fierberg, March 1 – March 29, 2025. The exhibition is a love letter to the chaos, color and beauty of food and cultural markets across the world.
Over one year, Fierberg traversed England, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Mexico, Spain, South Korea and Vietnam, capturing daily life in wet markets, tianguis, hill markets, and other cultural epicenters to explore a disappearing yet vital thread in the fabric of our shared humanity. He documents still moments within these living, breathing “organisms”, pulsing with commotion and life-affirming energy. The markets are not just places of trade, but are sacred spaces where the stories of food, culture, and community are both lived and preserved.
The public is invited to view and purchase work during regular gallery hours, Tuesday-Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m., and during the following special events:
Opening Reception: Saturday, March 1, 6-9 p.m.
First Friday Art Walk: Friday, March 7, 6-9 p.m.
Third Friday Collector’s Night: Friday, March 21, 6-9 p.m., Artist Talk at 7 p.m.
Food & Beverage Industry Night: Monday, March 24, 6-9 p.m
Storytelling and cameras have been an influential throughline in Fierberg’s life, from growing up in newsrooms, studying filmmaking and film theory at the University of Colorado, Boulder to establishing his successful creative agency. Beyond his professional photography endeavors, he has presented at Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival (MVIFF), lectured several panels on storytelling and brand building and debuted a virtual reality experience at Redline Contemporary Art Center.
Month of Photography Denver is a biennial festival that celebrates the art of photography through exhibitions and events across the region in March 2025. For more information visit denvermop.org
