Group Theremin
February 15—June 14, 2025
Group Theremin is an interactive audio-visual installation that uses ultrasonic sensors to generate synth-like audio and LED animations. In his work, Owen Schwab references towering cell phone structures found throughout the Southwest. The installation allows viewers to interact with the invisible frequencies produced by the artwork, and allow for a more intimate experience with frequencies that silently fill the air around us.
The installation was previously featured at CURRENTS 2024 Technology Festival in Santa Fe, NM.
Owen Schwab is a new media artist and designer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His practice reflects his fascination for the interplay of technology in the built environment and personal relationships.
