Navigating the World of Art Appraisal

February 26, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$35

A painting can have several different values depending upon the intended use of the information. Art insurance coverage requirements, which vary, are different from what the IRS requires to take a deduction. Perhaps you and your siblings inherited some artwork. You each have favorite pieces but decided to get an appraisal so the work can be evenly divided. In each of these scenarios, one piece of artwork could have different values.

What will I learn?

What is an “art appraisal”?
How can one artwork have several different values?
Do I need to insure my artwork?
When might I need an appraisal?

Please join us to learn and to get answers to these questions in this upbeat and informative talk followed by a Q & A with Linda Matthews.

Linda is an Accredited Member (AM) with the International Society of Appraisers (ISA). She specializes in fine art appraisals for insurance, market value, fair market value, estate planning, and charitable donations for private and corporate collections. She and her husband, Lawrence, are owners of the Matthews Gallery located on historic Canyon Road in Santa Fe, NM.
