LES FEST: the films of Les Blank

LES FEST: 2 days & 2 different programs of classic works by the fiercely independent, late, great filmmaker LES BLANK!
No Name Cinema is absolutely thrilled to be able to present both vintage 16mm prints (on loan from the private collection of Keif Henley), as well as brand new 4K digital restorations (by Les’ son Harrod Blank & Anthony Matt) of quintessential films created throughout Les Blank’s 50 year career. Each program will be over 3 hrs long and explore portraits of Chicano culture, Dizzy Gillespie, Thailand, blues musicians Mance Lipscomb and Lightnin’ Hopkins, Serbian-American communities, mass tourism, Norteño music of the Texas-Mexican border, and of course Werner Herzog eating his shoe.
We hope that you’re able to join us for this very special event ~ Seating is limited to 40 max and no reservations are possible: first come first served. No whining.
