Ken Little: A buck, a buffalo and a tiger go into a bar…
June 11, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
San Antonio artist Ken Little visits New Mexico for Magdalena’s Frontier Days, Saturday, June 11, 5 to 8 PM at kind of a small array, 106 N. Main St., downtown Magdalena.
The show will feature three mounted animal heads made of taxidermy models covered with shoes, belts, holsters, various discarded leather artifacts; items wrapped in rubber, Naugahyde, canvas, and other alternative “skins.”
These gestural sculptures give the represented creatures voice in their status as wall mounted trophies. They look back with the gaze of regaled totems, emblems of the human tendency to transform nature into our own image.
One is tempted to wonder, in the face of these mute beasts, what if these walls could talk?
The exhibition runs through Saturday, July 16.
