Herstory Printmaking Collective is an Albuquerque-based group of artists focused on community-building, education, and social change, presented through a feminist lens. For the past couple of years, the artists have focused on creating a series of portraits of prominent women, wheat-pasting these prints up in public spaces.
Member artists Julianna Kirwin, Michelle Shelly Korte, and Lena Weiss will give a presentation about the origins of the collective, their “Womanifesto”, some of the portraits we have done, and their inspiration from the printmaking colectivos in Mexico.
This is a free event and RSVP is required!!! Wine and refreshments will be served. 5-7 pm, talk begins promptly at 5:30.
