Emerging Vision: Biennial Student Show

December 2, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

On view from November 25, 2022–January 7, 2023, at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center is Emerging Vision, a juried photography exhibit of outstanding images by twenty-two photography students from universities in the US and abroad. Jurors Yoav Friedlander and Dana Stirling, Co-Founders of Float Photo Magazine, selected images that offer a glimpse into the future of a medium that is constantly evolving.

With a collection of images from a diverse group of artists, with different backgrounds, points of view, and visual styles, the selection process comes down to what work stands out, delivers the message, makes the voice of the artist heard, and communicates with us. Even though there was no specific theme, this collection of images, all together, tells a story of a collective who are inspired by the world around them and the people they are close to. Images of nature, family members, or self-portraiture that examine what it is to be in these times through their eyes and their lenses.

The opening Reception and Awards Ceremony with the jurors will be on Friday, December 2 between 6-9 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

The show can otherwise be viewed during normal gallery hours. Tuesday – Friday 11 am-5 pm and Saturday 12 pm-4 pm.
