CURRENTS 2023 Art and Technology Festival

CURRENTS New Media is delighted to present the fourteenth year of its annual art and technology festival, CURRENTS 2023. The ten day festival will be held at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds from June 16 – June 25, 2023. The festival will present eighty-five works of seventy artists working across the vast field of new media art.

This year’s festival will be presented in three solar powered buildings at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds totaling 15,000 sq. ft. We will present an electric mix of art including large scale Installations, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Interactive Installations, Experimental Video and Animation and Multimedia Performance. The 2023 festival will activate the entire Fairgrounds location with happenings both indoors and outdoors. Wander between exhibition spaces and find outdoor installations, a weekend outdoor market, food trucks and pop-up performances.

Currents 826, CURRENTS’ year-round space on Canyon Road, will serve as a satellite location of the festival, presenting a solo show by artist Jiabao Li on interspecies collaborations.

We are especially excited because for the first time in our history, 50% of the installation artists are from New Mexico! The remaining artists are from across the US and the world.
