Curatorial Talk: Tale of Boons
March 9, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

An in-person curatorial talk and story-sharing event with the guest curators behind the 2023 Rough Gems exhibition, The Ultimate Boon. Led by Union Hall’s Chief Curator Esther Hz, we will begin with a short Q&A with Florence and Nadiya regarding the participating artists and the exhibition concept. The floor will then be opened to those who feel called to share a personal boon of their own. Whether it be from those who started their own business, a personal relationship that has a significant impact, or any other timely blessings that have influenced your lives. We offer this space to individuals to celebrate and share their boon with others.
Can’t make it in-person? They will be live-streaming this event on Union Hall’s Instagram, starting at 7 pm MST. Please register for free using the Eventbrite link and let us know if you plan to share a boon of your own.
In conjunction with Denver’s Month of Photography celebration in March 2023, The Ultimate Boon is an introduction to five artists who have utilized their art to navigate various life-altering experiences to reach their boon. Boon (noun) is a thing that is helpful or beneficial. The featured artists have surmounted personal obstacles by discovering and honing their chosen mediums and practices. By uniting creatives who work across visual and sonic disciplines, the audience will immerse themselves in these robust narratives that catapult them to an empathic state while even embarking on their own understanding of their journeys to bring them to their Ultimate Boon. Featured artists include Coltyn Cody, Lizeth Guadalupe, Isaac Jordan Lee, Eduardo Vazquez, and Xavley.
The Ultimate Boon is on view through Saturday, March 18th, 2023. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12-6 pm.
