Black and White
September 24, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

To see the world in black and white implies an ability to make firm decisions between right and wrong, good and bad, with no shades of doubt or indecision to cloud one’s judgments. But in fact, the adage is a deceptive one, because, as colors (or noncolors, according to the likes of Leonardo and Isaac Newton), black and white contain a range of astonishing subtleties. Artists have exploited that phenomenon almost since the dawn of time, and continues with the artists included in the Satellite exhibit to Taos Fall Arts at Studio E on the Southside in Taos, NM.
These artists, who extol the possibilities of the two colors (or noncolors, depending on your point of view)are: Larry Bell, Kathleen Brennan, Jane Ellen Burke, Gretchen Ewert, Melissa Kennelly, TJ Mabrey, Desiree Manville, Deborah McLean, Robert Parker and Brian Shields.
