Between The Wind: Photographs by Ben Horne
October 21, 2020 - December 30, 2020
Converge Las Cruces Fine Art’s latest online 3D virtual exhibition Between The Wind: Photographs by Ben Horne is now on display. This 28-image exhibition will be on display until December 30, 2020, and includes many of the images contained in Horne’s book by the same name.
Working in places like Death Valley and Zion National Parks, Horne uses primarily 8 x 10 in. and 4 x 5 in. cameras. Ben has one of the oldest photographic YouTube channels and a viewership of over 46,000 subscribers where he talks about and teaches everything about large format photography.
“My goal is to create simple, structured, and calm images of nature” said Horne. “I prefer working with traditional large format film because of the inherent limitation and the required sense of discipline. These limitations help to shape the final image by giving me a sense of direction. I find joy in recognizing the beauty in smaller, more intimate scenes of nature, scenes that are easily overlooked.”
“Ben considers, composes and creates,” said John Craig, director of Converge Las Cruces art gallery. “His use of large format cameras slows the picture taking process down and creates images with unsurpassed detail, depth, and color.”
Between The Wind: Photographs by Ben Horne is an exhibition that highlights 28 images of Horne’s work and can be seen at convergelascruces.com.
