16th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival

The Outpost Performance Space and The Lensic Performing Arts Center announce the 16th Annual New Mexico Jazz Festival (NMJF), September 15–October 8, a collaborative project between two of the most respected non-profit jazz presenters in New Mexico. The festival features concerts and events in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos by major touring artists, NEA Jazz Masters and respected New Mexico-based jazz, international, Rhythm and Blues and Latin music practitioners. Once again, the New Mexico Jazz Festival features three weeks of world-class music, art, and more! The opening weekend of the festival, all at the Lensic in Santa Fe, features the Legendary Count Basie Orchestra; Grammy-nominated saxophonist, Ravi Coltrane Cosmic Music Project with harpist Brandee Younger; NEA Jazz Master, drummer Terri Lyne Carrington + Social Science; and Meet the NEA Jazz Master with A.B. Spellman and Carrington. Then, at the Outpost, it’s Count Basie Orchestra stars, saxophonist Doug Lawrence Quintet feat. vocalist Carmen Bradford; hard bop icons, The Cookers; vibraphonist Joel Ross; and more! Plus Blues Night on Albuquerque’s Civic Plaza (9/25)featuring Ruthie Foster, Hillary Smith and Chillhouse and Levi Platero; and so much more!
