Western New Mexico University Expressive Arts Department and Francis McCray Gallery invites established and emerging women artists from New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado to apply for our Women in the Arts exhibition, scheduled for Fall 2025 and Fall 2026. This exhibition celebrates the voices, perspectives, and creative expressions of women in the arts, with a focus on fostering inclusivity and representation.
We strongly encourage applications from artists who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), LGBTQ+, and members of other underrepresented communities. Our goal is to create a platform that highlights artistic practices and stories that are often overlooked in the mainstream art world.
As a research and teaching gallery, the Francis McCray Gallery is committed to engaging the community in critical dialogue through art. This exhibition offers an opportunity for artists to showcase their work in a space dedicated to education, exploration, and the advancement of contemporary art.
