SUMMARY:Phasmagorica: A séance for the modern world and ode to the esoteric salons of Paris 1900
DESCRIPTION:Phasmagorica is an immersive evening of divination\, séance and paranormal discovery — an intimate soirée for thirteen guests\, set in an opulent Salon\, a love letter to Parisian séances of lore. Built from sacred geometry\, occult methodology\, immersive light\, and Dolby Atmos surround sound\, guests are guided through a series of experiments and ritual. No two encounters are the same. \nNew dates released monthly — check the booking calendar for confirmed nights. \n“Phasmagorica! Wow! Wow! WOW!” — Guest review \n“…a compelling\, thrilling\, and fun experience for believers and skeptics alike… we had a total ball and made some new friends along the way!” — Guest review \nThe Forgotten Magic of the Séance \nAt the turn of the century\, séances were the most thrilling nights of people’s lives — not because they were terrifying\, but because they were wondrous! \nSpooky\, social\, esoteric\, provocative…\nPhasmagorica revives that forgotten magic.\nParamusicology and light. Veiled thresholds and occult forms.\nThe chamber breathes with intention.\nChoices are made.\nOracles drawn.\nObjects offered.\nShadows awakened.\nThis is Paranormal.\nPhasmagorica is a paranormal experiment where you become the medium.\nBelief is optional. Experience is inevitable.

SUMMARY:Elena Masrour - Waking Up Was the Worst Idea?!
DESCRIPTION:“Waking Up Was the Worst Idea?” presents fifteen intaglio prints that examine the psychological and political impact of religious propaganda\, censorship\, and authoritarian control in post-revolutionary Iran—especially as experienced by Iranian women. Through layered symbolism and a blend of surrealism with comic book aesthetics\, the series explores resistance\, memory\, identity\, and the emotional burden of awakening. By drawing on the visual language of American comics\, I invite viewers to a more accessible entry point where playfulness and critique coexist\, highlighting the surreal contradictions that women navigate under systemic restrictions. Masrour is in the Martin McDonald Hall Gallery from September 4 – October 31\, 2026.

SUMMARY:Kyle Steed: An Introduction
DESCRIPTION:Winterowd Fine Art is pleased to present the work of painter Kyle Steed. Viewers are invited to join the gallery in celebrating Steed’s first time exhibiting in Santa Fe. \nOpening from 5-7 pm on October 23 and running through November 5\, this introductory exhibition features canvases that showcase Steed’s signature expression. \nThrough written and visual language\, Steed works to develop his own sense of identity. His process is an investment into the future as much as it has borrowed from the past. A background in linguistics and coding left an imprint on his life\, inspiring the artist to decipher meaning in this all too often cryptic world. The through line of his work can be felt in his steady hand and the iconic graphic language he has created. \nWith Steed’s imagery\, we are confronted with something familiar\, something primal\, and simultaneously we are taken somewhere we don’t yet understand. Attempting to connect the relationship between our being human and being something all-together not of this world are exposed through multiple layers. The word abstract fails here when describing his work. Each painting is a new experience where the eye is led to discover patterns that lead not to an end point\, but to a new beginning. \nPlease join us for a reception with the artist from 5 -7 pm on Friday\, October 23\, 2026.

SUMMARY:Performance: A Cloud Of Blossoms Scatter In The Wind Together
DESCRIPTION:Performed by Nadine Lollino and dancers with live music\, this performance responds to the poetry and metaphors around the shared moments of beauty and bittersweet awareness of impermanence in nature. When people gather to observe these fleeting moments\, a momentary poignant connection occurs\, dissolving barriers just as the air filled with scattering blossoms creates a disorienting\, dreamlike space where the boundary of sky and earth dissolves. \nMovementLab is a contemporary dance collective dedicated to experimentation\, collaboration\, and site-responsive performance\, creating works that engage architecture\, landscape and community.

The performers invite the audience to imagine nature reclaiming its space as they journey through a landscape of recycled and repurposed dance works in all the things i started… \nPlease join us for this unique event\, which is part of an ongoing series of collaborations between the MSU Denver dance program and CVA. all the things i started… is free and open to the public\, but space is limited\, so please register in advance to reserve a spot.

SUMMARY:COLLIN BRADFORD - EVERY ROCK IS A CLOUD
DESCRIPTION:Material is pleased to present Every Rock is a Cloud\, a solo exhibition by Utah-based artist Collin Bradford\, on view October 24 through November 20\, 2026. \nWorking across video\, photography\, sculpture\, drawing\, and other forms\, Collin Bradford has developed a practice centered on how we understand and relate to the land we inhabit. Every Rock is a Cloud considers land and our human experience within it\, through the expansive scale of geologic time. The exhibition grew in part from Bradford’s move from the Great Lakes region to Utah\, where the exposed geology of the surrounding landscape prompted him to think differently about permanence\, transformation\, and the ways human experience intersects with much longer processes of geological change. \nThroughout the exhibition\, Bradford shifts between human and geologic scales to challenge our perception of landscape as fixed or permanent. Rocks and clouds emerge as temporary arrangements of matter operating at radically different speeds. At the same time\, transparent colored forms alter familiar views of the land and draw attention to ongoing geologic activity. Through close observation and subtle interventions\, Every Rock is a Cloud invites viewers to consider matter’s continual movement and the fleeting nature of forms that can appear permanent and unchanging. \nImage: Collin Bradford\, Cloud of Points\, 16 x 16 inches\, plastic\, pigmented epoxy\, fluorite-rich soil and rock from near Spor Mountain\, UT. 2026 \nOPENING RECEPTION\nSaturday\, October 24 · 6–9 PM \nCLOSING RECEPTION & ARTIST TALK\nFriday\, November 20\nArtist Talk · 5:30 PM\nClosing Reception · 6–8 PM \nGallery Hours: During events and by appointment.

SUMMARY:Rania Matar: Where do I Go?
DESCRIPTION:Obscura Gallery presents “Where do I Go\,” by Rania Matar\, with a photographic exhibition from the recent book of the same name. The exhibit and supporting book are collaborations with the young women of Lebanon\, seeking collectively to commemorate and to reimagine the future of a country defined by half a century of conflict and catastrophe. The year 2025 marked fifty years since the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War. Half a century later\, Lebanon continues to endure the aftermath of the Civil War\, compounded by economic collapse\, the COVID-19 pandemic\, the Beirut Port explosion of August 4\, 2020\, and yet other wars in 2024 and 2026. Amid this unraveling\, Rania found hope and inspiration in the young generation of women. She collaborated with them to tell their stories and to focus on their strength\, creativity\, dignity\, and resilience\, as they considered their options. Where Do I Go? became the title of this series and the book. Rania describes the images as her love letter to the women of Lebanon. \nThe book signing takes place on Saturday\, October 24 at 3:30pm and is followed by an artist reception from 4-6pm.

SUMMARY:Curate Presents Austin Eichelberger: Naturalia
DESCRIPTION:Join Curate for an opening reception at Iconik Lena Street for Eichelberger’s newest body of work “Naturalia”.\nJoin us for this celebration 4-6PM with a Poetry Reading event at 5pm\, featuring Eichelberger and several special guests. \nEichelberger writes of this work “My collages explore and express my queer perspective and aesthetic by freeing men in vintage magazines from pages on the fringes of society so I can reposition them as art. Though many may not see us this way\, queer people are as natural and normal as floating clouds and glittering crystals.” Elichelberger goes on to say ”I cut from a variety of sources as I seek to create or release tension through image combinations. I pull photographs from vintage muscle\, science and art magazines\, and I glean materials like cardboard from everyday life to lend texture and dimension to the shapes of my thoughts and feelings. Most recently\, I’ve integrated satellite imagery and large-scale images of natural elements like crystals for Naturalia’s larger collages”. \nPlease visit our website to learn more.\nThis work will be on view 10.24.26-1.24.27 \nWork Seen Here\nAustin Eichelberger\n“Head in the Sky I”\n19.5″ x 27.5″ Framed\nPaper Collage\n2026

SUMMARY:Artist Talk with Marcus DeSieno: Geography of Disappearance: Migrant Deaths on the US/Mexico Border
DESCRIPTION:Project Launch Grant recipient Marcus DeSieno talks about his project Geography of Disappearance: Migrant Deaths on the US/Mexico Border. The United Nations has declared the border between the United States and Mexico to be the deadliest land crossing in the world and a humanitarian crisis. Thousands of men\, women\, and children have died crossing the over 1\,900 mile border through brutal deserts and mountains with harsh climate conditions year-round. DeSieno photographs along the border and goes to the exact locations where the bodies of unknown migrants have been recovered using autopsy reports and data collected by humanitarian organizations as well as local and state police.

SUMMARY:MATTHEW MULLINS: PENTI MENTI
DESCRIPTION:The title of New Mexican painter Matthew Mullins’ upcoming show\, Penti Menti\, is a play on the painting term pentimenti that refers to the visible traces of an artist’s process. “These traces can be layers of paint\, the energy held in a juicy brushstroke\, remnants of altered compositions or evidence of fixing mistakes\,” Mullins says — a visual representation of the artist’s labor\, vulnerability and the devotion of time. “Standing before a painting that is five hundred years old\, we can still sense the artist’s spirit\, presence and humanity from those rough\, unpolished moments in the painting.”\n \nMullins’ oil paintings reflect this concept on an elemental scale\, harmonizing the openness of landscape imagery with flat screens of geometric patterns. “The geologic marks and scars on the landscape are Nature’s pentimenti\,” the artist says. “They are the accumulated effects of time and natural forces.”
